Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the tour take?
Last year our average tour length was around 30 minutes, not including waiting in line (which offers plenty of entertainment).
How scary is it?
We are very scary, we don't allow anyone under 10 to enter and we recommend parental accompaniment for those under 13.
What happens if it rains, snows, or is extremely cold?
WE REMAIN OPEN! We are completely indoors so we have no problems dealing with the weather. However we do not heat our entire haunt so please dress warm!
I went through last year, will I have the same experience?
No way! We make significant changes every year including a complete redo of our bale maze. Rest assured your experience will be fresh.
Are there any gravel roads that I need to drive down to get to you?
We are located on a paved road. If you turn east on Zora Rd from HWY 206, you will avoid gravel. Coming from any other direction will send you down a gravel road for at least a mile.
What is parking like?
We have a large parking lot behind our arena. There are signs all the way down our driveway so you will know you are in the right place. The entrance to our haunt is located right next to the parking lot at the back of our arena.
Is it easy to locate Spooky Barn?
If you type 'Spooky Barn' into google maps it will lead you right to us. Once you are close, there are signs that will lead you to us. We also have a large sign/display that is well lit at the end of our driveway.
Why are you less expensive than other places?
Don't let our price fool you! Our experience offers some of the most state-of-the-art effects along with jumpscares, sensory stimulation, and many more experiences you won't be expecting! We are clever at keeping our costs down without sacrificing the quality of our haunt. We do all the work ourselves and have a great group of volunteers. Since all of our profits go to the Springfield Food Bank, we try to remain affordable so more people can enjoy and help support our cause.
Are you on social media?
We are! We are on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
Someone in my party is too young to tour the barn, what are our options?
We recommend you leave the young ones at home. We don't have anyone that can look after your young for you. If you have someone that can look after them at our haunt, we have a seating area near the entrance/exit in our arena where they can wait for you to go through our haunt.
I want to volunteer! What should I do?
On our Volunteers page, we have all the info you will need along with our application. Be aware that we give preference to those that can volunteer every night.
Are we allowed to go through more than once?
Out of respect for our volunteers we frown upon those wanting to tour again. It causes problems for our actors since they work very hard to scare you and most times the groups that tour again give our volunteers a hard time. If we are busy, we do not allow groups to go through again.
