Spooky Barn was a haunted attraction just outside of Winnipeg.
Our History:
We first opened in 2008 (and held the Oakbank Zombie Walk in 2013 to continue on our tradition of raising funds for our cause.) We grew and made drastic changes every year! 2018 was our final season. Letter from the Hayeks (The Founders): We are a family of 4 who has a passion for Halloween and a calling for helping out the community! When Spooky Barn first opened, it was a small haunt for friends, family, and trick-or-treaters. We would collect food donations and people would go through 6 or 7 small rooms that were very detailed and a little spooky. Since then we have expanded immensely. In our last years we used our entire barn and arena (totaling over 13,000 sq/ft), were open for several nights, we had over 35 volunteers each night, and we were terrifying. We have our own style of scaring that offers high-end visual effects, sensory stimulation, jump scares, and much more that all come together to create unique and immersive experience. Having started out so small, we have always been very detail-oriented. Even though we expanded tremendously over the years, the amount of effort that is put into our haunt grew as well. Every room, corridor, twist, and turn was carefully mapped out to fulfill our goal. Everything you saw, heard, smelt, and felt was all strategically placed to offer the most terrifying and exciting experience possible. We spared no detail and always appreciate help from other creative minds. Special thanks to Dave and Kirsten Harrison, Linda Glowacki, and Kyle Ryzebol for being some of those twisted minds. Scaring you all was so much fun, but we did it all in support of raising food, funds, and awareness towards the Springfield Food Bank. Thank you so much for your support. -Susan, Stewart, Gillian, and Austin |
